YAMUNANAGAR: Dismissal of the anticipatory bail application of former IGP MS Ahlawat — who was booked in a molestation case on June 8 — on Wednesday, has cleared the way for his arrest. Ahlawat is the second top cop in Haryana to face molestation charges— the other being former DGP SPS Rathore — and police have delayed filing an FIR against him for eight years.

After the court verdict, the local police has formed four teams to arrest him. The teams will be headed by DSP (headquarters) Krishan Kumar Hooda, CIA incharge Pawan Kumar, SHO City, Yamunanagar, Mohinder Lal and incharge Women Cell, Amarjeet Kaur. These officers are also members of special investigative team (SIT) constituted to investigate the matter. “We have four teams to arrest the accused.
First, he will be asked to join the investigation. If he does not respond, raids will be conducted on possible hideouts,” said Sibas Kabiraj, SP of Yamunanagar. The district and sessions judge, RC Godara, rejected the bail application after the state’s counsels said the accused, a former police officer, could influence investigation.
